What is a Bee Therapy Hut?

A “bee hut” is a space to get away from daily life to quiet your mind and body.

You’ll step into a hut with benches to lie or sit upon, with 100,000 of nature’s hardest workers underneath you, separated by steel mesh and rich, aromatic cedar planks.

Experience all the good-for-you properties of a hive, from the smell to the vibrations to the rich air, all from a safe distance.

50-Minute Apitherapy Hut Experience

For 2 people

The classic bee hut experience. A brief 5-minute welcome and intro, followed by 50 minutes of lying above a living hive, feeling the low hum beneath you. Reserve this for you and your partner, for a best-friends retreat, or reach out for a gift certificate. Be sure to check the forecast before booking to make sure temps will be roughly 55 or warmer!

Lavender Festival: 20-Minute Intro Bee Hut Experience

For up to 2 people

Experience a guided intro session to the bees! After a brief welcome, you’ll wade into the shallow end of a hive air therapy experience. Spend a few minutes unwinding with the gentle hum of the bees foraging July flowers.

What is apitherapy?

Apitherapy is a broad term that covers most bee-related wellness treatments (api[s] = bee), including bee venom therapy. No need to worry, Heathen Honey’s apitherapy hut won’t put you in direct contact with bees. Your experience falls under “bee air therapy“.

Where is the bee air therapy hut located?

The hut is located at Growing Miracles Lavender Garden just outside of Roseburg, OR. Exact directions and parking instructions will be provided upon reserving your time.

Will I be stung?

There is no 100% guarantee you won’t be stung while outside (you are outside, after all), but honeybees usually have no interest in you if you aren’t agitating them, in their hive flight path, or swatting at them. You’re about as at-risk of being stung as you are taking a walk through a flower garden.

I’m looking for unique things to do in Southern Oregon, does this fit the bill?

Unequivocally, yes. While bee air therapy huts exist, they are few and far between. This is the only dedicated “beehive air” apitherapy hut in Oregon (as opposed to venom therapy, etc.), and one of only a couple that are publicly available in the Pacific Northwest.
